Slowly But Surely!

Just one month into our renovations and Captain Sawyer's is starting to shine!

The saying is certainly true, that a fresh coat of paint can do wonders. In keeping with the neutrals theme for the interior walls, this old building gets brighter each day. The first floor will feature bright white trim with a sand/oatmeal color and the second floor will feature a light silver grey with bright white trim as well. All of the bedrooms are getting new carpet to flatter their new wall colors and the wood floors will be refinished on the first floor.

We will be doing a whole post dedicated to Before-During-Afters but until then we will leave you with just a sneak peak of what we have been working on thus far.

Before I forget, there is an update on those original wood floors we discovered... Unfortunately they could not be refinished. Much to our disappointment, the planks were just too thin and would not sustain the sanding, however Sarah was able to give them a beautiful white wash! (See this first picture below)
